Rediscover one of the most magical encounters between music and cinema! Amadeus—Miloš Forman’s legendary work, awarded with eight Oscars—comes to the stage of the Margaret Island Theatre in a special form: during the screening of the film in its original language, a live orchestra brings to life the immortal works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, conducted by Ernst van Tiel. Every moment of the story is woven through Mozart’s music: in the dark frame story, the memories of the elderly Antonio Salieri are accompanied by the dramatic 25th Symphony, while the tensions with his father are intensified by the poignant details of Don Giovanni. The climax of the story is Mozart’s unfinished masterpiece, the Requiem, composed on a mysterious commission.
